Botany Bay (Environmental)   We awoke early in the morning so that we could get a head start on our trip to Botany Bay. By 7am, we were all ready to move out after a quick breakfast made up of leftovers from our time at Sydney. We knew that we needed to leave early in order to get to Brisbane at a reasonable time. We left and set course toward Botany Bay.      After a half an hour of driving, we first stopped by at the Landing Lights Wetland. Here there is many different species of waterbirds that created their homes along the shoreline. There was a bird called the Black Winged Stilt, which had long legs allowing it to stand in the water and stay above other birds. Dylan commented on how he wished he could  Avery decided to go off the trail to try and take a heron's feather when he suddenly sunk knees deep into mud. Dylan and Mason were able to pull him out, but not with both of his shoes. We had to spend another ten minutes digging around for them. By that time we were a

Hyde Park and Sydney Olympic Park (history, sports) We had a long night at the Sydney opera ho use so we sleep in until eight. we got up in search for a couple parks that are very historic to Australia but first we needed some breakfast. Mason found us a great place walking distance away from our next destination. The Canopy is a very modern and the coffee was extraordinary. Zach ordered the benedict beagle which was suggested by the waitress and it was out of this world.  We found one called Hyde Park, this was the oldest park in Australia.  This park is in the heart of Australia and has sixteen hectares  of open land. Several monuments stand  We had a long night at the Sydney opera house so we sleep in until eight and get up  guard in Hyde Park and one is Archibald Fountain which was a gift from JF Archibald. It is a water feature dripping in ancient mythology and people said it was magnificent so that was  our  first destination at the park. As  we walked up Dylan pushe

Open Market/Sydney Opera House (Cultural/History)      The penguin parade had us all tired from driving back so we woke up around 8:00. Diego decided to show us his cooking skills and made french toast and bacon on the camper stove. The drive to Sydney was 8 hours, so we had to move quickly to make sure we arrived in the city in time for our musical that night. Mason wanted to drive, so he did and almost wrecked the van 15 minutes in, prompting Avery to take over for the rest of the way. The drive took us along the coast, which was great scenic route that everyone was able to enjoy.     After driving about halfway to Sydney (just over 4 hours) Mason suggested we should stop at one of the open air markets on the outskirts of a town.  We all readily agreed as we were hungry as breakfast felt like forever ago, and we wanted to immerse ourselves deeper into the Australian culture.  We had to park far away as the market was crowed with both locals and tourist alike added to the fac

September 13th Phillip Island Tour

Penguin Parade/Nature Park (Natural Environment)      Everybody woke up at around 9 o'clock, super tired after staying up all night for the cricket match, but super excited for the day to come.  By now we had all gotten over the jet lag from the flight across the world.  Due to the late start, we ate a quick breakfast that Mason cooked up using the stove in the camper and then set out for Phillip Island just after 9 in the morning.  After two hours of uneventful driving, we finally crossed the bridge between the mainland of Australia and the Island at around 12 p.m.        We were all looking forward to seeing the penguin parade at the Phillip Island Nature Park but knew we had to wait until evening to for that to happen.  To pass time on the island we all headed to the koala center which was a free wildlife exhibit near where the penguin parade would be.  The five of us all began the long trek to the center because we had to park far away due to the giant camper.

September 12th Cricket Game  It is a beautiful morning in Australia as we are waking up at 8 and will be seeing a cricket game. The game starts at 2:45 so there is a little bit of time before. We went to breakfast at 7 which Dylan got the best dish, which was the  "Holly Eggs". That is eggs over sourdough bread with some ham sprinklings. It was really good and the coffee was outstanding. They put a foam heart in all of our coffees so we all felt the need to take out our phone and put it on our Snapchat story. We left the restaurant at about 9:45am and took our RV to the Coles supermarket about two blocks away and bought some groceries for the week. When we were in the store Mason tried all the samples and by the time we checked out it was eleven. We then went back to the RV parking and organized our leftovers and things each of us bought at the store. From there we needed more of an elegant lunch so went to Vue de Monde. the best dish there was by far Diego's kangaroo
